I’ve worked in IT for over 25 years, starting with people’s computers at home and moving on to look after businesses. Along the way I’ve supported thousands of users, and picked up my CCNA, CompTIA A+ and Cisco IT Essentials certifications.
The thing clients mention most is that I don’t baffle them with jargon. I think that’s my job: to explain what’s going on clearly enough that you can make a good decision without having to become an IT expert yourself.
I care about the people and businesses I look after, and I want what’s best for them, even when that means telling them something doesn’t need spending on. I love this work and would be doing it anyway, which is why I go further than the job strictly asks.
Birchall Consulting is where I do the planning and advice, from fractional CTO work to reviews and projects. Birchall Reality Ltd, the company I formed in 2020, also looks after more than 45 businesses on managed monthly IT support.
