Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace support
Most businesses didn’t plan their Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. It grew one user at a time, with shared passwords, old mailboxes still on POP or IMAP, and licences added as and when they were needed. It works well enough until someone leaves, a laptop goes missing or your emails start landing in customers’ junk folders.
I set up Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace properly, or put in order what you already have. That covers sign-ins through Entra ID with multi-factor authentication, company laptops and phones managed in Intune, and your domain’s email records. Old mailboxes are moved across with the mail checked at both ends. If you’re a sole trader starting out, I can set everything up properly from day one. Licences can come through me or be bought direct, whichever you prefer.
If your tenant has grown for years without a plan, a Microsoft 365 review is a sensible first step before anything is changed.
What it involves
Set-up and tidy-up
A new tenant set up properly, or an existing one put in order: users, licences, shared mailboxes and SharePoint arranged around how your business works.
Moving between platforms
Mail and files moved from POP or IMAP accounts into Microsoft 365, or between Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, with everything checked before the old accounts close.
Entra ID and Intune
Sign-ins protected with multi-factor authentication through Entra ID, and company laptops and phones enrolled in Intune so they can be secured or wiped remotely.
Email security and domains
SPF, DKIM and DMARC records set up so your email reaches inboxes and is harder to spoof, with your domain and DNS hosting kept in order.
Questions about help with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Should we use Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?
Both do the job well. Microsoft 365 suits businesses that live in Outlook and Excel, or use software that expects them. Google Workspace suits teams that work mostly in the browser. I’ll look at how your staff work and the software you rely on, then recommend one.
Can we move our old email into Microsoft 365 without losing anything?
Yes. Mail on POP or IMAP accounts, including mail stored only in Outlook on someone’s PC, can be brought into Microsoft 365. I check the mail at both ends before the old accounts are closed.
What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and do we need them?
They’re records on your domain that tell other mail servers which systems are allowed to send email as you. Without them your mail is more likely to land in junk, and easier for someone else to fake. The large email providers increasingly expect them, so any business sending email should have them set.
